Whether you’re just dipping your toes into the world of triathlon or chasing a new personal best, Triathlete Within is a club that welcomes every athlete with open arms. Based in Calgary and Canmore, this dynamic club is led by the experienced coaching team of Jill Kirker and Chris Lough, alongside Kari Gregory of COREmultisport. Their shared mission is simple yet powerful: to help individuals gain health benefits and confidence through participation in multi-sports programs.

Expert Coaching for Every Level

At the heart of Triathlete Within is a coaching philosophy that meets athletes where they are. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced competitor, Jill, Chris, and Kari are dedicated to helping you reach your goals through personalized guidance and structured training.

Their coaching programs span the full spectrum of triathlon disciplines:

  • Swim: In partnership with COREmultisport, the club offers coached swim sessions at Mount Royal Pool various times a week. These sessions are perfect for athletes looking to refine their freestyle and boost swim fitness. For a more customized approach, private one-on-one sessions with Jill or Chris are available, complete with above-water video analysis and feedback. 

  • Open Water Clinics: When the lakes thaw, Triathlete Within hits the water with summer open water clinics at scenic Quarry Lake in Canmore—an ideal setting to gain confidence and skills in natural environments. 

  • Bike: Year-round cycling support includes virtual Zoom bike classes through the winter and spring/summer group rides departing from locations around Calgary. Ride details are regularly posted on the Triathlete Within Facebook page. 

  • Run Speed Sessions: Track interval training keeps members fast on their feet during the winter, with evening sessions at Mount Royal University in collaboration with COREmultisport. These can be paired with the evening swim session for a solid training combo. Outdoor run workouts continue into the spring as conditions allow.
