How to Sanction Your Event
Sanctioning your race with Triathlon Alberta ensures your event meets the highest provincial standards for safety, fairness, and quality. It also provides comprehensive liability insurance for your organizing committee, volunteers, and athletes.

Setting up Registration (CCN/Uplifter)
To ensure seamless membership verification and insurance coverage, we encourage all Triathlon Alberta sanctioned events must use our integrated registration system. Here is the basic process for setting up your event:
Create an account at this link
Create your Event by clicking “Create an event”
Define Categories: Set up your specific race categories, age groups, and pricing tiers.
Enable Membership Validation: Ensure the Triathlon Alberta/Triathlon Canada membership check is toggled ON. This automatically prompts unregistered athletes to purchase a day-of-race or annual membership during checkout.
Test & Publish: Run a test transaction to ensure the waivers and membership prompts are firing correctly before making your event public.

Provincial Competition Rules: The official rulebook governing all Triathlon Alberta sanctioned events. Ensure your team and volunteers are familiar with these standards.
Race Director Event Checklist: Use this simple checklist to make sure you don't miss any steps while planning and running your race.
TD Sanctioning Checklist: Use this checklist alongside your Technical Delegate (TD) to ensure your course maps, safety plans, and medical provisions meet sanctioning requirements.
RD Post-Event Report: Mandatory for all sanctioned events. Please complete and submit this report within 14 days of your event's conclusion to help us track participation and safety metrics.
Certificate of Insurance Request: Please fill out this form along with your race sanctioning to obtain proof of insurance coverage

Triathlon Alberta is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive multisport environment. We strongly encourage all Race Directors to consider course adaptations that welcome paratriathletes.
Simple adjustments to transition zones, entry/exit points in the water, and clear communication regarding course terrain can make your event accessible to a wider range of athletes.
