As the 2026 triathlon season draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the incredible races, the personal bests, and the vibrant community spirit that defined this year. But amidst the cheering crowds and the grit of the athletes, there is a dedicated group of individuals working tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all possible.
Today, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Triathlon Alberta Officials.
From the brisk, early morning setups before the sun has even thought about rising, to standing out in unpredictable Alberta weather, our officials are the true unsung heroes of our sport. Whether you were monitoring the swim course, managing the chaos of the transition zones, or ensuring a safe and fair bike and run, your commitment has been nothing short of spectacular.
We truly could not host these incredible events without you. You are the watchful eyes that keep our athletes safe, allowing them to push their physical limits with confidence. By upholding the rules of the sport with integrity and consistency, you ensure a level playing field for everyone—from nervous first-timers to seasoned elite competitors. Moreover, beyond the whistle and the clipboard, you are so often the ones offering a supportive smile, a much-needed word of encouragement, and high-fives at the finish line.
Triathlon is a complex sport with a lot of moving parts, and managing an event requires immense focus, patience, and passion. To the Technical Delegates, Head Referees, and every single volunteer official who gave up their weekends to support our community: Thank You.
Your hard work does not go unnoticed. You embody the spirit of Triathlon Alberta, and the success of this 2026 season is a direct reflection of your dedication.
