Triathlon Alberta 2027 Memberships Now Open
Registration for 2027 Triathlon Alberta Annual Memberships is officially open. When you register now, your membership covers you for the 2027 season and the remainder of 2026. This allows you to secure your insurance, access winter training clinics, and begin off-season preparations early.
Athlete Benefits
Joining Triathlon Alberta connects you to a province-wide community of multisport athletes. Your membership provides:
Comprehensive Insurance: General liability and accident insurance for all Triathlon Alberta sanctioned events and member club activities. You have the option to purchase 24/7 Top-Up Insurance for protection when training outside of an affiliated club. Insurance applies within Canada.
Exclusive Access to Pedal Protect: Annual members gain access to the Pedal Protect Bike Insurance Program. In addition to 24/7 top-up liability, this program allows you to opt into physical damage coverage for training and racing bikes.
Racing Eligibility: Your membership provides eligibility to compete in sanctioned events across Canada (except Quebec), including provincial and national multisport games, National Championships, and World Multisport Championships.
A Voice in the Sport: Members receive voting privileges at the Annual General Meeting, granting a say in the future of the sport in Alberta.
Coach & Race Director Benefits
Membership offers professional protection and development for those building the sport:
Coaches: Receive liability and general sports accident coverage for all sanctioned coaching activities. You gain access to professional development opportunities, coaching education, and standard safety initiatives.
Race Directors: Gain the opportunity to bid for Provincial Championships or act as a Qualifying Event for the World Triathlon Age Group World Championships. Your sanctioned events will be featured on the Triathlon Alberta Race Event Listing, alongside access to professional development resources.
Club Affiliation
Affiliating your club with Triathlon Alberta ($50 fee) provides:
General liability and accident insurance for all training events, social events, and fundraisers.
Director and Board Member Liability Coverage.
Promotion through the Triathlon Alberta Club Directory, social media accounts, and newsletter.
Note: New requirements are being phased in for clubs leading up to the 2027 season, including specific incorporation structures and Safe Sport modules for board members to ensure a professionally run environment.
Safe Sport
To ensure a positive and secure environment across all programs, events, and activities, all athletes, coaches, clubs, officials, and race directors operate under the new Alberta Universal Code of Conduct. This includes a comprehensive Safe Sport complaint mechanism designed to protect all members.
