The Kronos Triathlon Club is hosting a Splash n’ Dash (Swim to Run) this April 14th at Mount Royal University. This is a low-key event comprised of a simulated open water swim (POW = Pool Open Water. All lane ropes are pulled out and participants swim around race buoys in the pool in a square pattern) followed by a multi-lap run around the Mount Royal Indoor Track.
This event is meant to be fun and is a great opportunity to spice up your training this winter season
Age Groups and Distances (Ages are based upon your age Dec 31, 2019:
Youth 10/11: 100m Swim —> 1000m Run (1 lap/5 laps)
Youth 12/13: 100m Swim —> 1000m Run (1 lap/ 5 laps)
Youth 14/15: 100m Swim —> 1000m Run (1 lap/5 laps)
Junior 16-19: 200m Swim —> 1600m Run (2 laps/8 laps)
Senior 20-29: 200m Swim —> 1600m Run (2laps/8 laps)
The event will take place with heats (according to age group) and finals.
There will be 2 finals: U16 and 16+
The U16 final will consist of the top 2 individuals from each of the following: 10/11 boys, 10/11 girls, 12/13 boys, 12/13 girls, 14/15 boys, 14/15 girls.
The 16+ final will consist of the top 2 individuals from each of the following: Junior Men, Junior Women, Senior Men, Senior Women, Masters Men, Masters Women.
Distances for the 2 finals will be:
U16 Final: 200m Swim —> 1600m Run (2 laps/8 laps)
16+ Final: 300m Swim —> 2000m Run (3 laps/10 laps)
There will be manual timing by volunteers with some fun prizes and awards at the end of the event up in the Rec Centre Foyer.
The event is limited to 100 individuals.
